Welcome

Díana Rocha is a community-based artist from San Antonio, Texas. Rocha has participated in solo, two-person and group exhibitions since 2010. Since 1995, Rocha has been active in community-engaged projects, particularly public murals and their restoration, which serve as cultural beacons for local neighborhoods. She has contributed to the restoration of several murals on San Antonio’s Westside and recently became a Lead Muralist for her own project, Strength Fosters Change, created in collaboration with San Anto Cultural Arts, the City of San Antonio’s Office of Sustainability, and Texas Creative. Rocha’s work has been featured in Saytown Review ‘Zine, News4 San Antonio & Fox 29 San Antonio, San Antonio Report, and That Gray Zine. In 2025, Rocha earned her BFA – painting emphasis from UTSA School of Art and was selected for the first residency at Space C7 focusing on woodcarving, watercolor, and pyrography. Rocha received the Distinguished Student Graduate Assistantship which will allow her to pursue her MFA at Texas Tech University in the Fall 2026.

My practice weaves together themes of feminism, resilience, and transformation with cultural reclamation, drawing inspiration from Indigenous shamanistic beliefs of Curanderismo, animal symbolism, and the power of nature and healing traditions.

I use traditional mediums such as oil painting, watercolor, and woodcarving in combination with nontraditional methods, including pyrography and the integration of earth-based materials, which root each piece in both physical presence and ancestral resonance.
